Randy was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta. He is the middle son of 3 children who were all taught to curl by his father Steve. Randy was relativity successful at the junior ranks, losing the final to Paul Gowsell in 1978.

After juniors Randy played front end for Hector Gervais and was considered to be the best corn broom sweeper of his time In 1985 Randy was asked to play with the legendary Pat Ryan and went on to win 2 Canadian championships and 1 World Champions hip. After the team had broken up he played with many players and had limited success with them.

The big breakthrough for Randy came in the year 1998 when he met a young naïve boy by the name of David Nedohin and the rest they say is history. Randy has been happily married to Wendy for 18 years and has had 3 children together Cody 16 Spenser 14 and Taylor 12.

Randys hobbies and passions outside of curling are watching his boys play baseball and daughter play soccer. His other interests include golfing and owning standardbred horses.
