Scott Pfeifer | Second
Born: January 5, 1977
Hometown: St. Albert, AB
Residence: Sherwood Park, AB
Years Curled: 25 |
Born and raised in Alberta, Scott grew up in the Edmonton area his entire life. With aspirations to become the next Wayne Gretzky of the NHL, he played three seasons of peewee hockey before finally deciding to trade in his skates for a push broom… Scott chucked his first rock at the St. Albert Curling Club way back in 1988 and simply hasn’t looked back.
Fortunate enough to be surrounded by some great players in his early days, he managed to win the ’94 World Junior Championship and place third at the ’97 World Junior Championship. After an exhaustive junior curling career, Scott decided to take a year off to concentrate on his U of A studies. Fortunately, he did receive one very important call to spare in a local spiel for two guys named Randy Ferbey and David Nedohin. They went on to become 1998 Shamrock Poor Boy champions, and the following season the three decided to play the entire year together. It appeared the third piece of the Ferbey 4 puzzle was now in place!
Scott moved from St. Albert to Sherwood Park in 2000, the same year he married his childhood sweetheart Chantelle. Five years later, they have two wonderful children: Marlow Vincent (the “MVP” of the family) and Dominic Torino (2006, here we come), along with plenty of supportive family members to help out Chantelle while Scott is away on his long and plentiful road trips. When not spending time with his family at home, Scott can usually be found in the summer wandering aimlessly around the golf course, or routinely getting pummelled by Marcel on the squash court.
The Ferbey4 experience has provided Scott with a ton of laughs, great memories, and 3 close friends for life. He can’t wait to be a part of the drive for their 4th Brier championship in Edmonton, his hometown, and the ultimate prize in sport, an opportunity to represent his country at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy!
