Kristie was born in Grande Prairie and grew up in a small town 30 minutes away called DeBolt. She spent many years in following her mother, Heather, around from rink to rink until the age of 9 when she started competing herself. She participated in her first provincial at the age of 11 but never had success until the age of 16 when Heather Godberson (Nedohin) teamed up and won the Jr. Worlds in Red Deer, Alberta. With a few more years of Jr’s left she was only able to win one more Alberta title in 1997.
During her first year of ladies curling Heather and her teamed up again and represented Alberta at the Scotts in 2000. In 2004 she took a few years away from the sport to work and became a part owner of a lounge, where she currently lives, in Grande Prairie called Maddhatters Liquid Lounge and Crazy Cuizine. After deciding she still had the drive and desire to do what it takes to be on a winning team Heather and her joined forces again in the spring of 2006. Now she is very excited to see what the team will accomplish in the near future.
